Hannah Simone

If you’ve seen the new Fox TV show “New Girl”, starring Zooey Deschanel as a quirky girl named Jess who moves in with three guys she just met, then you will recognize Hannah Simone as Jess’s gorgeous model friend CeCe.

Last week’s episode “CeCe Crashes”, with its focus on and character development of CeCe, was in my opinion the best episode since the brilliant pilot. My favorite part was when CeCe asked one of the guys if he knew her ethnic background, leading to this hilarious exchange:

Here is Hannah’s description of her actual background, courtesy of her interview with OpenChest.com:

“I’m a multi-ethnic person so I think most people are surprised by any part of the puzzle. My father is Indian, my mother is half German-Italian and half Greek-Cypriot. More people are surprised by where I grew up! Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, India, England and Canada isn’t a normal answer to that question. Being raised as someone who is multicultural and multi-ethnic has been the greatest gift to me.”

Jennie Reid

Today is the 26th birthday of half-Thai Playboy model Jennie Reid, aka Jeanette Krejcik, aka former teen online model Jenny Reid (NSFW link) (yep that’s her, as confirmed by Jennie herself on Facebook), and, as I am wont to do, I’m using it as an opportunity to post more pictures of the birthday girl.

For more info and pics check out her Facebook page and Twitter.

Dia Frampton on The Voice

Dia Frampton on The Voice

Dia Frampton, lead singer of the band Meg & Dia, will be appearing as a contestant on tonight’s episode of The Voice, airing at 9pm (8pm Central) on NBC.

The show is a singing competition that features four musician coaches: Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. Currently the show is in the “blind audition” phase: Contestants perform while the coaches have their backs turned. If a coach likes what they hear, they push a button and their chair turns around so they can see the contestant. The contestant then gets to choose their coach from amongst the ones that turned around, and they’ll work with that coach for the rest of the competition.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, you should definitely check it out. Only one episode has aired as of yet, but it looks pretty sweet so far, and the presence of Dia Frampton on the show can only make it more awesome.

NBC released a preview of Dia’s blind audition that you can view on NBC.com. Also, check out the links I’ve posted below to learn more about Dia, her sister Meg, and their band Meg & Dia.

Jacklyn Keyser

Jacklyn Keyser

Jacklyn Keyser exemplifies much of what I love about half-Asian women. Of course, she is breathtakingly gorgeous (and she gogo dances!), but beyond that, she’s a bright girl (currently studying accounting) who successfully navigates the Asian/non-Asian dichotomy of her multicultural background.

She acknowledges her father’s northeastern U.S. roots, as she is a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. But she also fully embraces her mother’s Japanese heritage: for instance, she can speak casual Japanese and is learning to speak formal Japanese, and she is a superfan of Sailor Moon (with a particular affinity for Sailor Jupiter) and the J-pop supergroup AKB48. Her home since age 8 has been San Diego, CA, but she spent six years of her early childhood in Japan and hopes to move back there again someday.

Jacklyn is on Twitter and Model Mayhem.

Tessa Keller

Tessa Keller

Tessa Nicole Keller was the lead character on Season 3 of the MTV reality series Laguna Beach, assuming the narrator role that was held by Lauren Conrad in Season 1 and by Kristin Cavallari in Season 2.

I never saw a single episode of the show, but I remember seeing Tessa narrate the Season 3 preview on MTV, and I was surprised that instead of picking another dumb blonde to assume the lead role, they picked a beautiful Asian girl (Tessa is of Filipino, Irish, and German descent – some sources list her as having Chinese ancestry as well).

I really wasn’t able to find much info about Tessa online – just a few articles from several years back (see BuddyTV, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the Laguna Beach Gossip blog). I’d be really curious to find out what she’s been up to since the show went off the air four years ago.

Logan Stanton

Logan Stanton

Perhaps Dana White has a thing for quapa girls? As president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he’s managed to employ not one, but two gorgeous quarter-Asian ladies to be Octagon ring girls: Arianny Celeste and Logan Stanton.

Here is Logan Stanton’s description of her ethnicity, courtesy of her Twitter:

Logan debuted as an Octagon girl at UFC 92 in December 2008. She was considered by many people to be the most beautiful of the Octagon girls, but she was unexpectedly let go a year later, after UFC 107 (her contract expired and it was not renewed). She has since landed a number of modeling gigs, including Guess Jeans and Roxy Swimwear, as well as other photo shoots.

Logan is on Twitter and Facebook. Also check out this interview she did while employed by UFC and this one she did afterwards.
