Marié Christina Digby is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles who first became famous for her acoustic version of Rihanna’s Umbrella which she posted on YouTube in 2007. Her first name is pronounced mar-ee-AY, with the accent on the final “e”. She has a Japanese mother and an Irish father (the reverse of Mandy Amano).
She is just wrapping up her tour with the Lilith Fair, whose last show is tonight in Washington, DC. She is also set to release the final episode of her 17-part web series Breathing Underwater (which shares its name with, and tells the story behind the making of, the third of her three studio albums). The series can be viewed on ABCMusicLounge.com.
